"Developing a "Radical" Giving & Serving Model"
Teach about the "grace" perspective associated with giving and serving, and how neither can have basis in the law - or an earned or achieved status gained by any merit or goodness of its own.
This also helps to ensure that "they will know that we are Christians by our love." An unconditional and unchanging action with the force of God's power, as it's foundation.
Is this "Becoming a rug for all people 101"? No - this is living in the transcendent reality of God's love as a "conquering force" without equal or foe. The evil forces that author diabolical schemes and pitfalls, pride themselves on having the "loudest and meanest" voice full of murderous hatred and vengeance at the core. But, the silent voice of God's love has no initiating or originating insecurity to drive or fuel these wicked inferences or suggestions, and the associated death that consumes the being of those who are made it's servant.
We always pay for the darkness we permit to lurk in our hearts and lives, and in turn become paralyzed by it's dominating influence. It "colors" to the point that the trail and path taken becomes entrenched with the narrowness of self-preoccupation and narcissism!
Eventually, the trail of dead bodies and transactional relationships marks the journey, while loneliness and depression take hold.
We were created to give unselfishly (God's original intent) of ourselves, and the life robbed of these possibilities is so horribly limited, unfruitful and clouded; "clouded" with haunting questions of who they really are; debilitating voices that remind them of their secret sins and failures to the point of suicide; and probing voices that create inferiority and insecurity complexes beyond words. They seek an escape, but find none.
The Blessed Life quote: "No matter how much I give i never have less, and no matter how much I receive, I never have too much - because I'm a river.". This does not communicate never to accumulate nicer and better things; its simply releasing control to be the conduit and expression of God's love the world needs to see.
