"Leadership Vacuums": The Threat & The Opportunity
Today, 99% of our world's biggest threats and crises exists due to the pervasive "leadership vacuums" that have become so prevalent in every field and societal-center of influence. Although, we've curiously asked ourselves 'why', all too often we've ambitiously pursued "greatness" - without first embracing the fundamental process that shapes us into becoming great and effective leaders worth following.
"Judging ourselves" before rushing to assume these important roles and assignments, then becomes most critical in the self-check and heart-purification that will generally expose "the masquerade" that often parades itself as "leadership"; but is simply "followership with a title" and "a tickling-ear message" that incites others to blindly follow, without being proven, perfected, or polished by His loving hands and presence.
But, sadly, we've quickly laid blame or made many tired excuses for our obvious failures, while claiming that 'God is leading us to do what repeatedly just isn't working or really representing His heart in the first place!'
"Well, Pastor - What do you attribute the remaining 1% to represent, as far as the reason for the world crises?"
I believe that the 1% is the representation of the ONLY ONE possessing the only formula or solution for the world's problems, who can help us, prepare us, guide us, or direct us as spiritual leaders, and that's Jesus Christ leading us through the enablement and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit for our individual and collective destiny; whose purpose would mightily prevail if "total surrender" was on the hearts and minds of the masses that claim that 'He is Lord', and that are genuinely 'called' for His service and purpose alone.
Without Him, we're shooting blanks in the gross darkness - at no target, and keep recycling through painful processes that are meant to cleanse and purge us, so that we all land in a place of humility and surrender that sets the stage for real kingdom fruitfulness.
The "stricter judgment" should then become expected in the heart of every sincere-godly leader, along with the balancing grace and wisdom to deal with the public scrutiny that comes as a result of providing good leadership - if we believe that sacrificial service and unselfish outpourings of love towards our fellow members in the Body of Christ and those lost among us in this crazy world, "is" the highest good and the greatest gift that we could ever give back to the Father; as our hearts and lives agree and align with His perfect will - consistently!
What should we do to turn the tide in our churches and ministerial organizations?
STAY HUMBLE (Romans 12:3)
DEPEND UPON HIS GRACE (2 Peter 1)
RENEW YOUR MIND (Phillippians 2:1-12)
BE APPROVED UNTO GOD - GROW UP! (2 Timothy 2:1-26)
May God Bless every effort you make to eliminate the threat of inept leadership through negligence, ignorance and disobedience, and cease the opportunity as a powerful Christian Leader in your ministry, family, and business life to impact the lives of others for eternity.
