#GOD's PREVAILING PROMISE to "the Remnant" in 2014...

"Whenever a person truly has a desire to obey God's commands—when that person loves and respects God's Word—the Holy Ghost supplies them with all power and ability to fulfill those commands.  That is the blessed provision of the New Covenant." (Papa David Wilkerson)

This profound revelation that Papa Wilkerson communicated through one of his daily devotionals, is the focus of what I'm hearing The Lord proclaim over HIS Body today, in light of the "new" understanding and expansion during our necessary learning-curves; as a "community of believers" in Christ in this peculiar season that GOD has strategically used to begin helping us all, to perceive and to acknowledge HIS ways - like never before.

What AMAZES ME, is how The Lord continues to progressively advance HIS kingdom in the earth, despite all the various "developmental continuums" existing in the Body of Christ!  MEANING, we're ALL in a different phase of our spiritual growth, yet within the various dimensional - graces, stewardships, and understandings that acts as the backdrop of this advancement, its ALL still succinctly being "kept" and "continued", through each and every follower - who is truly committed to losing their lives "in Christ"!

HE is LORD, and many of the so-called "spiritual" leaders that have placed more trust and emphasis on "their words" rather than "God's Word", are in for - far more "deep cleansing" and "violent removal" of the poison of apathy and indifference, which has sadly led to the contamination and corruption of many believers in Christ's Church; by blindly and ignorantly "eating their dainties" or spiritual food!

 

In 2013, the Body was introduced and reintroduced to the goodness and graciousness of "The Refiner" - Jesus Christ, who sits upon HIS throne in a relentless pursuit for the hearts and lives of HIS people, as well as the dying and the lost in this world - in need of HIS love and grace! 

HIS Inexhaustible Headship "demands" that intimacy, maturity and unity amongst HIS people, which most insightfully-informed apostolic and prophetic voices recognize - as the "major part and priority" of Christ's refining and reforming work in the earth in this very volatile hour!

This morning, as I've been listening to the calming and reassuring voice of The Lord Most High, I can see in the spirit - the completion of a massive "spiritual infrastructure" that's been laid, through all the "seeming" delays and difficulties of this year, which were strategically permitted to occur to bring us into the center of HIS will and purpose; for the end-time agenda and mandate that HE has at the forefront of HIS mind.

This does NOT mean that "everything that happened" (circumstantially-speaking) was "authored" by God, or even a part of HIS original plan for you or me! It means that as we live and walk with GOD, HE uses every circumstance and situation in our lives - to further HIS own virtuous ends and purposes, on our behalf! And, it also means, we can NO LONGER BE "ignorant of the enemies devices", because Holy Spirit leads us in ALL TRUTH!

These powerful verses came to my heart, as I pressed-in closer to HIS bosom to hear more..."You whom I [the Lord] have taken from the ends of the earth and have called from the corners of it, and said to you, You are My servant–I have chosen you and not cast you off [even though you are exiled]. Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice. [Acts 18:10.] Behold, all they who are enraged and inflamed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; they who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish. You shall seek those who contend with you but shall not find them; they who war against you shall be as nothing, as nothing at all. For I the Lord your God hold your right hand; I am the Lord, Who says to you, Fear not; I will help you!" (Isaiah 41:9-13 AMP)

The CONTEXT of this passage in Isaiah 41, is pointedly connected to the "covenantal commitment" that GOD originally made with the Children of Israel, through the Old Covenant "testimony" that loudly and definitively bespeaks of GOD's unchanging and unending - "providential oversight" and "unconditional love"; in spite of Israel's wandering and wavering hearts or OURS...

So, herein lies the primary reason we must "look into" Israel's journey, to understand our own!

"But you, Israel, are MY servant": In contrast to God openly-rejecting the idol-making people in distant lands, "Israel" means, "Governed by God", and "Israel" is "the servant of the LORD".  A "servant of God" would never - make God, "into his own image", or into his own idea of what God should be.  

"Servants don't tell their masters what to do", or what to be - to them, in the relationship. Servants know who "the master" is, and who they are, HIS servants.  Israel is twice addressed as "servant" (literally 'slave'), that is to say a person "without position or rights" outside of HIM - because, "this servant" belongs to a "Great Master." And, HE is to be trusted and to be followed, without question!

In this passage, God also addresses "Jacob".  WHY? "Jacob, whom I have chosen": Because, lest Israel become too proud, God pops their swelling-heads very quickly, with acknowledging their "past history" to remind them of HIS goodness and faithfulness; NOT to bring about condemnation, guilt or shame for their past blunders and mistakes.

If they are "Israel" - which means to be "governed by God" - then they are also "Jacob" -  who represented a "conniving, untrustworthy con-man." In others words, they "WE", are only the "servants of God", because HE has chosen them/US to "be".  So, although GOD sees us through the "finished work" that Christ accomplished for the whole world, HE is ultimately "our Father" that knows everything there is to know about YOU and ME!  HIS "dealings" with us are ALWAYS in light of our "development process" and the "sanctification continuum", which finally ends - only as this part of our lives on earth, has come to a close!

As HIS children, HE does NOT hold "our feelings", in a higher degree of importance, reverence or supremacy - to, above, or over HIS own word to and for us! You can NOT read the Old Testament "examples", which is a command in 1 Corinthians 10 - to all believers in Christ, and NOT SEE that GOD does not "mince for words" to protect any of our "feelings", when it comes "to speaking the truth in love"!?!

IF we're going to call him "friend", it will NOT merely be empty words or faddish commitments that acts as the driving force behind our vacillating devotion to HIS cause and to HIS kingdom! And, THIS is the context for the reference to Abraham in Isaiah 41:8..."The descendants of Abraham My friend": Israel stood in this place because of their "earthly", covenantal relationship to Abraham.  Since Abraham was the friend of God, so his descendants had a special place before God also.  And, just as Jehoshaphat knew that Abraham was the friend of God (2 Chronicles 20:7). James knew that Abraham was the friend of God (James 2:23). We are also "the friends of God", not because of our relation to Abraham from the "physical perspective", but because of our relation to the Son of God, Jesus Christ.  "You are My friends, if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you". (John 15:14-15)

You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth … And said to you, "You are my servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away": Again, Israel's special place before God, is because of "God's initiative", not because of Israel's performance-based achievement. Israel is different from the idol-makers in distant lands, because of God's efficacious work "in them", not because of their own goodness or greatness!  The "arrogance of Chosenness", ill-affected Israel, and it ALSO disconnected the Church - due to a wrongful focus on us, not GOD; but, God's special choice and use of us STILL does NOT change, in spite of our weakness and brokenness!

"Fear not, for I am with you": This is both a "command" and a "promise".  Israel is commanded to fear not. Fear, worry, and anxiety are often sin. When the God who rules over the nations as described in Isaiah 41:2-4, the God who chose us and loves us as described in Isaiah 41:8-9, when that God tell us fear not, we must take it seriously! But there is also a promise. We fear not, because the LORD has told us, I am with you. What more do we need? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)

How much more prone to fear and discouragement we are, when and "if" we feel that we are alone!  But we are never alone, because God has declared, "Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God": "Remember Me? The God of all power and glory? I'm that one. I am your God." 

Years ago, J.B. Phillips wrote a wonderful book titled, "Your God is too Small".  In it, he showed how when people forget the greatness of God, they easily become dismayed. But God says, "be not dismayed, for I am your God".  "I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand": God's strength and glory make Him - "able to help us". But it is His love that makes Him say, "I am willing to help you."

Idols must be fastened …"with pegs", so they might not totter (Isaiah 41:7), because you have to hold them up! But, God holds us up! Hallelujah!  "I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."  You and I should NEVER have a God that WE have to hold up!  

Knowing and understanding this, do we now see how the terrible the nature of our fear and unbelief, reveals the darkness of our own hearts? We all at one time or another say or suggest to God, "You are not with me. You are not the God of glory and might. You do not really love me."  HOW do we communicate this to HIM? By our RESIGNATION to doubt, fear, unbelief, or just succumbing to DIFFICULT CIRCUMSTANCES!

Charles Spurgeon said, "Every truthful man feels that he has a right to be believed. He speaks upon the honor of an honest man, and if you say, 'I cannot believe you,' and even begin to lament that you have no faith in him, the reflection is not upon yourself, but on the person whom you cannot believe. And shall it ever come to this, that God's own children shall say that they cannot believe their God? Oh, sin of sins! It takes away the very Godhead from God, for if God be not true, he is not a God; and if he be not fit to be believed, neither is he fit to be adored, for a God whom you cannot trust you cannot worship."

"Behold, all those who were incensed against you shall be ashamed and disgraced": God will deal with our enemies, if we keep our trust in Him. He knows how to make our adversaries - whether they be men or devils - ashamed and disgraced.  "Behold, all those who were incensed against you shall be ashamed and disgraced" is also, in part, an outworking of God's promise to Abraham in Genesis 12:3: "I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you". God has always crushed anti-Semitic nations and movements, and in the reign of the Messiah, He will crush them completely.  For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, "Fear not, I will help you."

Today, in our divided Christian culture, "hyper-grace teaching" is rampant in the Body, and primarily because of the gross imbalance and heretical teaching that has swept through the Church-at-large, UNCHECKED, for the past thirty years or so!  But, ALSO, because of the fear that has come in like a flood, because our "spiritual diets" that have NOT been soundly rooted in the incorruptible, inerrant and infallible - Word of God; instead of "popularity preaching" and "charismatic personality"...

As we've misplaced "emphasis" on ANY PART or aspect of the Scripture, we've also blindly been led - and subsequently started leading, segments of the church into this gross imbalance; creating many theological conundrums and philosophical rantings, which are NOT really a reality in our New Testament Covenant that has been given to us "with better promises", unless we're NOT genuinely "following HIM"...?!?

Therefore, reading our Bibles "with understanding" in this season, nows puts the "prevailing promise" in the Book of Romans, into a much clearer balance of God's expectation of us!  "[God] will render to every man according to his deeds: to them who by patient continuance in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life: but unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that does evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; but glory, honor, and peace, to every man that works good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: for there is no respect of persons with God" (Romans 2:6-11).

And to further CEMENT this understanding in our hearts, the Apostle Paul, "For the grace of God (His unmerited favor and blessing) has come forward (appeared) for the deliverance from sin and the eternal salvation for all mankind. It has trained us to reject and renounce all ungodliness (irreligion) and worldly (passionate) desires, to live discreet (temperate, self-controlled), upright, devout (spiritually whole) lives in this present world, Awaiting and looking for the [fulfillment, the realization of our] blessed hope, even the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One), Who gave Himself on our behalf that He might redeem us (purchase our freedom) from all iniquity and purify for Himself a people [to be peculiarly His own, people who are] eager and enthusiastic about [living a life that is good and filled with] beneficial deeds. [Deut. 14:2; Ps. 130:8; Ezek. 37:23.] Tell [them all] these things. Urge (advise, encourage, warn) and rebuke with full authority. Let no one despise or disregard or think little of you [conduct yourself and your teaching so as to command respect]." (Titus 2:11-15 AMP)

"The Church" now represents the beautiful covenantal-extension and prophetic completion of God's Redemptive Plan for the Ages, through the inexhaustible expression and majestic personhood of Jesus Christ for the world. And, since God's expectation and relationship to Israel has NOT been "replaced" - but reconstructed and repaired through Christ, who is The Bridge of Reconciliation for both the Jew and the Gentile, to freely partake of - without fail; now, we all have the assurance that "our defeat or dysfunction" will NEVER lead to HIM changing - one iota!

God will REMAIN FAITHFUL to HIS own, no matter how long it takes us "to get it", but we have to DECIDE this one thing, before the RESTORATION and RECLAMATION of our voices in 2014 leads to unprecedented release and recovery for us all...

"God's Prevailing Promise to "the Remnant" in 2014, is - "MY WORD, IS ENOUGH!"
