#A New Metric for Ministry Effectiveness..
In 2016 & beyond, a "New Metric for Ministry Effectiveness" will be highlighted by the Spirit of Grace that is powerfully shifting God's people from flesh-driven escapades, messiah-complexes, and profit-motives in a dramatic and purposeful fashion.
A "metric", from a Kingdom business perspective (since we're to "OCCUPY"), is "a type of measurement used to gauge some quantifiable component of our performance in light of the Great Commission", such as a healthy return (disciples) on His investment (ROI), accountability for the use of revenues (this is BIG!), and so on.
"The Refiner" (Jesus Christ) has been closely monitoring the applications, approaches and methodologies of His five-fold ministry gifts, who've been charged with fostering the maturation of the Body of Christ. For far too long, we've left unchecked the misguided focus of many well-meaning leaders. We've excused ignorance, winked at incompetence, and supported blatant dysfunction through blind loyalty and wilderness wandering; "the blind following the blind".
No longer will a "big church", a "television ministry", and a "prestigious title" be the metric for ministry success; because if you "pull up the covers" to expose the foundation of many that have these characteristics of success, you'll discover a whole lot of flesh parading around wrecklessly!
Well, what will the "new metric" reveal?
1) A public/private life by the core leaders (five-fold ministry gifts) that is in line with the biblical qualifications for eldership that should readily assume leadership, if qualified. (Helloer!)
2) An unprecedented impact upon the community and the city in which the fellowship has been positioned by the Spirit of God, while acting as the driving force in fostering spiritual unity amongst the Body of Christ in the region and beyond the walls of their own local church walls.
3) A model for discipleship that draws the Church into the world or marketplace, which fosters conversations and deliberation, amongst people where divided interests and known hostilities between the secular and the sacred are prevalent.
True "prophetic engagement" by the Church in the earth, will demand the attention, resources and engagement of the world - and that's all Christ needs to save to the uttermost. Empty words, spiritual rhetoric and long sermonizing may still excite some, but sincere followers will be motivated and moved to be effective in advancing the kingdom in 2016 and beyond. Don't get left behind! WS-3
