“BEING PROPHETIC DOESN’T MAKE YOU INERRANT!”
"BEING PROPHETIC DOESN'T MAKE YOU INERRANT!"
When we "prophesy", we do not assume a "mantle of inerrancy, immutability and infinity", like Jesus Christ; people of God!
Many prophetic utterances over economies, nations and people's lives, must follow the continuum and process of Revelation, Interpretation and Application; so calling something a "false prophecy", is not basing what was communicated upon the fulfillment of specific details or degrees of accuracy -- although that becomes more and more certain "by reason of exercise and use".
For instance, I've fasted and prayed - knowing by counsel, by God's Word, and by other verifiable mature witnesses that God's Mind on a matter was clearly revealed to me. But, what materialized was the complete opposite! Like what I saw during the recent Presidential elections..
God did NOT elect Jimmy Carter, George Bush, Barack Obama, etc - the "will of the people" was revealed. But, to assume that was "God's Will" because HE permitted it to happen, is ignorance (no matter how innocent) of God's Providential Work manifest in the earth.
HE still accomplishes HIS Will, no matter "who" assumes an office, passes a law, or is positioned in a place of authority! Obviously, our disobedience to HIS Will/Word can delay or railroad what HE "willed", temporarily. But, what makes HIM "Sovereign", is HIS ability to "work all things together for good", in spite of our error and stumbling!
There are numerous biblical passages that show HIS Handiwork in the midst of our mess, yet HIS Redemptive Plans and Purposes still prevail!
Somebody better stand up and worship HIM, now!!! Hallelujah!
God does NOT force us to obey HIS Will - and "HE doesn't choose the way for the same reasons that we do"; that's what makes HIM..Almighty God!
If you want to know if something is "false" or not, wait upon The Lord and stay prayerful! But, be careful not to judge "it" before God reveals HIS Will. And honestly, that's scarcely known without seed, time, and harvest coming full circle; and God's People having HIS Mind at all times.
"Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification." (I Corinthians 14:1-5 NKJV) WS-3
