"You Don't Have To Feel It, To Seize (forcibly), Obtain (secure) or Attain (achieve) It!"
NO MORE DEFEAT, DEPRESSION OR DESPAIR
Because the bullying spirit and rejection that have been significant battlefronts in my life from the past, I take extra precaution to GUARD MY HEART and MONITOR MY EMOTIONS on a daily basis to maintain victory in Jesus; even moment by moment when I feel under attack..
At the end of the day, I am NOT my own; I have been bought with "the price"! Therefore, I will glorify God with my body..Hallelujah!!
When emotions "cling so closely" (Heb. 12:1), we might be tempted to think that such feelings are too strong after all—that real change isn't possible. But the truth is that "it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure" (Phil. 2:13).
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.
RELATED VERSES (HEB 12:1)
Ephesians 4:22
to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires,
1 Corinthians 9:24
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.
Hebrews 10:36
For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.
Hebrews 6:18
so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.
GOD's ALWAYS WORKING FOR US
Even when we don't see it—even when we don't feel it—God is lovingly at work in our lives through the power of the Holy Spirit to help us change our emotions.
- start with the TRUTH of God's Word, NOT what you're feeling (Ps. 145:18; John 17:17)
- watch "how" the enemy is trying to use your emotions to tempt you in a certain direction..(1 Cor. 10:31)
- pray the Word of God once you discover the strategy of hell against you..(James 4:8)
- emotions create thoughts that aren't necessarily true; think of "these things" (Phil. 4:8-9)
- reject every feeling, emotion and lie, and DO GOOD, TRUST GOD, and know that He cannot lie..(Ps. 34:14)
To do the opposite of what you feel like may seem like an impossible task, but it has an immediate effect. Though our hearts may race with envy, or our heads may be clouded in despair, when we turn away from emotional temptation and toward one right action, the strength of our sinful feelings will begin to dissipate.
