"MORE THAN A BABY.."
When you think of Jesus' nativity and birth, what comes to your heart? The story itself is rich and wrought with some amazing incongruences, in light of the 60 million+ abortions that happen more out of "convenience" than due to medical problems or complications.
Even as believers filled with the Holy Spirit, we can choose to live as if God is still far off...So, this Christmas season, may we choose to open our hearts to the Living God that we might experience THE fullness of joy in HIS loving presence.
If your desire is to "experience God", if you long to live in communion with HIM, you need look no further than the truth that HE is pursuing YOU! To experience HIM, is simply to let HIM in. To love HIM, is simply to receive HIS love. Intimacy with GOD is as pure and simple as breathing...
Every morning with God can be like "Christmas morning". From the moment our eyes open, we have an opportunity "to know a love that surpasses any gift we've EVER been given"! From the time our feet hit the floor, we can experience HIS perfect and HIS pleasing plans that the Lord has laid out before us.
LISTEN: The Son of God "became one of us" -- that we might become "one with HIM"! The "legal" ramifications of HIS actions, were the primary reason that both salvation and restoration can become a "reality in Christ", for those who will follow, receive and walk with HIM!
HE accomplished this by taking on our flesh; embodying our sins; feeling our pain; and bearing HIS cross. Jesus was actually "born to die"! And, the key to appropriating HIS victory at the Cross of Calvary, is accepting and acknowledging HIS Perfect Sacrifice on our behalf.
Ask yourself this question: "Am I worth dying for?"
Well, YES, and NO! I KNOW that I'm ABSOLUTELY UNWORTHY, and neither do I deserve or could I ever earn HIS blessing or favor. And, NO to feeling like the worm that I am; but realizing that HE died anyways! The perverted theologies of our day and time make HIS grace and mercy about something we've merited or earned.
In the context of Christmas and ALL OF LIFE, the answer is clear: "By grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast" (Ephesians 2:8–9).
You can do nothing to earn the sacrificial love of Jesus. You can do nothing to repay the debt you owe. But you can express your gratitude this Christmas week by serving your Lord with the same courage as those who serve and have served our country all over the world. You can refuse the culture's demand that you "keep your faith private". You can live boldly for THE ONLY ONE who died for YOU.
May this Christmas season be a reminder that every day of the year is good with God. May the gifts we receive be a reminder that every good thing, both at Christmas and throughout our year, comes from the hands of our loving heavenly Father. And may we wake up each day in joyful expectation to experience the steadfast love of our ever-present Creator.
May YOUR FAMILY experience the Richness of HIS Grace and HIS Goodness this Blessed Christmas holiday -- as this beloved New Year approaches! #WS-3
