“AWAKEN FROM YOUR SLEEP AND SLUMBER, CHURCH FOLKS!!”
In the realm of the spirit, the call to maturity for the Body of Christ is critical, and it reminds me of an example I read in the "Conservative Outpost" about Ronald Reagan.
President Reagan was "like a veteran quarterback who comes up to the line of scrimmage, takes a glance at how the other team is deployed against him, and knows automatically what he needs to do."
With the enemy's strategies of war more intense than they've ever been before, there is not enough time for the complacent church and carnal Christians "to figure it out from scratch", while waiting for the ball to be snapped.
You and I have to have figured out such things "long before the game began", and now should only just need to execute!
If you've been trying to figure out why the long preparations are necessary, here's why!
God is NOT going to put you in the game "half-cocked" and ill-equipped! This is the reason the scriptures forewarn "not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil." (I Timothy 3:6 NKJV)
YES - this passage (in context) is talking about the criteria for the office of a "bishop" or elder in the house of God; but every believer should achieve this standard as they mature in Christ.
The "pew-sitting' priesthood that many congregations have become, is not the Mind of the Spirit - and far from HIS original intent concerning our graduation "into perfection" (Ephesians 4 and Hebrews 6).
TODAY, answer the call! Someone else's life depends upon it! WS-3
