MANAGING EXPECTATIONS..

"Managing Expectations" is a must in assuming any regular or new management/leadership responsibility with others. Most leaders have certain methodologies they "habitually" employ with their peers, that are often "much different" than what they employ with their subordinates - or those that "report to them"; depending upon the leaders specific personality makeup in conducting business (relational, charismatic, or organizational).  As an OD Professional, I've seen numerous "personalities" that have "operational paradigms" they use to deflect from being personlly responsible for their own actions (plausible deniability); or the related pressure to lead, is challenging their capacity to navigate in the present situation or circumstance. If you're going to LEAD, expect to deal with people's changing and inconsistent expectations - but don't be crippled or bothered by their hidden or glaring dysfunction! SE...

DON’T COMPROMISE NOW!!

I don't know about you, but when you REALLY walk with Jesus - sometimes just the contemplations and longings for heaven, in light of the "stuff" you've got to deal with here on earth - can't even compare! What if "all the hell" you've been through, is about the corner you're about to turn right now in the Spirit?  Have you fought this long just to give in to the fleshly appetites and compromise meant to destroy you, when you have "all of eternity" to enjoy your life! Yes, in this present existence, you're going to have to say "no" to some things you absolutely like doing - but there not worth your eternal future apart from Christ! PROMISED LAND PARADIGMS..

When we assume that "entering our promise land" means that we don't have to fight, we miss the purpose for the previous season's process and preparation that God has allowed us to experience; to better equip us for service unto Him (first) and for others! For the New Testament Believer, the "promise land" is a dimensional reality of God's covenantal blessings manifesting through the "perfected faith" of every true disciple that explicitly relies upon His grace to occupy and possess every promise. Through the consistent application of God's knowledge, wisdom and understanding, the believer is positioned to partake of the "exceedingly great and precious promises" that sets us apart for experiencing "true success", which eliminates the wandering nature associated with an unrenewed mind, a stubborn or neglectful spirit, or a hard heart that feels "entitled to blessings" that they can never earn; but O...

“Change Our Hearts Lord”

Early this morning, I had an additional thought along the lines of "our responsibility", in light of The Great Commission...  We can't "save face" and "compel them to come", simultaneously! Too many of us are worried about what real compassion and desperation "looks like"; because "if we believed in eternal punishment and torment", our prayer lives would definitely intensify and our consciousness to actively "be a witness", would be at the forefront of our daily thought-life. When was the last time you even thought about sharing Jesus with the person you presently stick your nose up at, in empathy, in judgment, or in sympathy?  Don't WE have "the answer", in the Person of Jesus Christ? The "fear" that grips the heart of most believers is founded in the reality of the nagging questions and the lack of commitment that makes us vascillate in our own hearts; while partially agreeing with ...

"The Great Commission"

Some times I wonder if we (believers) have a hearing problem, or maybe we just don't fully comprehend Christ's mandate for the Ecclesia (called-out ones)? Today, I had a very sobering contemplation about standing at the Judgment Seat of Christ, giving account for my obedience to His will with the talent, time and treasure that He has granted me stewardship. As an analyzer and strategist, I thought long and hard about "how" I would respond to certain questions; and as I did - I could sense the Holy Spirit grieved by my lame excuses, selfishness and wandering heart! If any of you asked me last week, whether I was "totally devoted" to Christ and His Cause, I would have "loudly proclaimed" my dedication to Him - along with the number of years that I have been sincerely committed! But, no matter what people believe or say about what they can "see" of your obedience to Christ, only you know (if you're staying in His face) whethe...

“HISTORY DOESN’T NEED TO REPEAT ITSELF”..

When as a community, we've not properly "healed" from the diabolical assaults, biases and unfair treatment that many "institutional powers" have perpetuated against communities of color through the numerous policies and overt acts of racism, we also may arrive at certain "true" but crippling conclusions that imprisons us to justifiably "angry" attitudes and indifference towards any attempts on our parts or their's to reconcile with the status quo to take our destinies into our own hands. To actually change things around us — without asking for permission or without limiting ourselves to seeking support from the government to solve our own community's problems... We must force ourselves to harness the collective wisdom and wealth of our own community's, to silence the common narrative around black folks being "desperate", "needy", or "disenfranchised", in some perpetual state of "cat...
