"IDENTITY: No One is GOOD, but GOD!"
TONITE...
The lesson that I taught the youth with Samuel Marron at Iglesia Apostolica Profetica, was called "IDENTITY: No one is GOOD, but GOD!"
I can NOT express how profound the truths from God's Word really are, as we began our journey back in the Genesis account, which clearly outlines "God's Original Intent" for mankind.
Pastor J. C. O'Hair writes, "Only perfect human beings are fit for the presence of the Holy God, and only perfect human beings will come into the realization of that hope, which is laid up in heaven."
He goes on to say that "Here then we see our great problem: we are all unrighteous, and no unrighteous man shall enter the kingdom of God. God is the "Great Physician"! HE has thoroughly diagnosed our case, and given us a clear record of that diagnosis. But HE has done much more. HE has prescribed an absolute cure and, at the greatest possible cost to HIMSELF; HE has provided "the remedy". So far as "the charges" (against humanity) are concerned; HE has "put the price" - within the reach of the poorest of the poor. Yes, with no human scheme, philosophy or remedy available, the Almighty God has proved that HE is the God of all grace, and HE has revealed to sinful humanity, HIS own Divine way of making an imperfect man - perfect" = the Finished Work of JESUS CHRIST at Calvary!
As I shared God's heart with these beautiful young people, I could feel the power of The Lord extending HIMSELF "to them", to really perceive and understand that "none of their goodness - accumulated over their entire lives"; could "bridge the gap" that our sin has created - and, even our "good works" as Christians, does NOT earn us a "special place" or merited benefit - with God..
FAITH IN CHRIST, BY GOD'S GRACE - is the ONLY remedy for ALL HUMANITY..
We preach it, we sing it, and we say that we understand it; but, IF WE DID, the present condition of our individual and corporate impact upon the world, would be much different!
WHAT DO YOU MEAN?
Do YOU "long for heaven"? I DO, but not as a form of self-righteousness - because of "my own goodness"; not as a form of perfection - because I will never "be perfect"; and, not as a form of escapism - because I'm not afraid to suffer God's wrath - CHRIST already did.
So, like many "defeated Christians", who smother their witness by never sharing their faith; walk with no zeal or yearning to see "anyone else saved"; and "live like the world" - because their either NOT really convicted to walk with God, and have experienced little to no "check" about their present heart condition!
WHY? Due to the fact that their not in a Bible-believing or teaching Church (receiving the Whole Counsel of God's Word); their just NOT a real student of God's Word; or they've been taught that their "personal sacrifices and performance" - "earns them entrance", so they encounter the repeating roller-coaster ride in their emotions, around "their" mistakes, trials and weaknesses..instead of being "focused" on HIS Finished Work on our behalf!
If you think about it for a moment, "denominations" treat their own doctrinal interpretations as a form of "merit", and believe that they've discovered something from the scripture - as the core basis for their beliefs and practices"; BUT, it STILL doesn't "earn them their salvation or a special place" in the sight of God!
IS THIS WHY THE WORLD REJECTS THE CHURCH?
YES - because, the so-called "unbelieving world's observation" of the church, comes from them recognizing:
- That Christians ONLY run to God, when their in trouble...
- That Christians "play the fence" (in and out of the world), so they don't have to fully commit...
- That Christians feel "religiously obligated" to follow the church out of the fear of rejection of their own family, or because they will suffer penalty for NOT following God...
- That Christians are "bigger freaks", lushes and partiers than many "unbelievers", but rid themselves of their guilt and shame each week, by "going to church on Sundays"...
- That Christians are "superstitious", because we're bound by traditions, servants of our own perverted agendas, and fear the world we're called to save.
- That Christians are "religious", because we NOT convinced of what we really "say" that we believe...
Have you heard any of these criticisms before?
THE SOLUTION..
GET "THE" REVELATION that "No One is GOOD, but GOD!"
Let it..
- Govern how you witness and respond to other Christian's failures.
- Guard your heart from self-righteousness and smug-religiosity that sees yourself "better" than the sinners we're called to reach for Jesus.
- Guide you, as you lead others to CHRIST ONLY, and NEVER "use yourself" as the basis or the standard of RIGHTEOUSNESS or HOLINESS that God requires of every human being!
"JESUS PAID IT ALL - and all to HIM we owe..SIN hath left a "crimson stain", BUT - HE washed us, white as snow!" WS-3
