#DEEPLY CONTEMPLATIVE...

It seems now more than ever before, that I'm just unable to easily discount or ignore the chaos in the "every day" local and national news, and I believe that one of the reasons is due to my developing perspective as a Minister of the Gospel - along with the wisdom that "should come" from forty+years of living; which has me "deeply contemplative" and "seriously sober"...Because, I'm much more aware of God's Word and God's Ways in this season of my life, and my desire to be an effective witness for Christ often keeps me reflective, prayerful and watchful; on who I am and what I represent really means to those around me (in my world).

When you or I choose to selfishly live for ourselves - with no regard for the "bigger picture" or for the "greater purpose" that our very existence should serve, we're normally very lonely and "spiritually lethargic" or dead; so our understanding of the importance or our lives upon others, is faintly grasped or misunderstood.

WHAT IF...?

- YOU are the present focus of someone seriously contemplating suicide, and their interaction with you on TODAY, will be the determining factor on whether they will or will not "kill themselves"..

- YOU are the "only Christian" this person has ever trusted, and its through your witness that they will either accept or reject Christ...

- YOU are inspired to witness to the "next Billy Graham", but instead of reaching out to them, you decide to save face and ignore the Holy Spirit's prompting to encourage them to trust and to follow God's leading...

WHAT ABOUT the young man who entered a church on yesterday, killing some nine people - to include the pastor, (who was actually in the middle of a prayer meeting), had been helped or ministered to earlier that day...Would the incident have ever occurred?

Listen family, I'm NOT suggesting that you and I "live like monks" or "religious fruitcakes", but it is important that we "let our lights -so shine", so that others may be eternally and positively impacted, where the prevalence of tragedies would normally occur...

YOU CAN make a difference and change the course of someone's life, but it's starts with "living above the shallows", by consciously considering the influence you wield on a daily basis.
