When "politics" and "special interests" are made priority above our "inalienable rights - before God", some kind of INJUSTICE is bound to follow!
I know that both "the advocates", who boldly uphold our necessary - "civil rights", as well as those other activists, who are pursuing any/all "human right's inequities" in the crazy world that we live; is all very important!
BUT, in order to SEE an "even-handed justice" served in all these areas - for all people, we MUST..."Genuinely care about ALL PEOPLE; using "the same rule of law", "measure of equity & equality", and "scale of balance" - to properly meet out justice FOR EVERYONE, but especially for the VOICELESS orphans, widows and poor people!"
I'm believing God to position my voice amongst the institutional powers and remnant elite, who simply need to HEAR the voice of God, UNEDITED!
I'm NOT going to "position myself" for some "special committee appointment", public endorsement from notable celebrities or dignitaries, or just sit around and "keep having church" - while the world Christ died to save, continues in a downward spiral of darkness!
I am CALLED to "prophetically engage" in HIS Name, but NOT as some "Lone Ranger", "super hero", or "self-proclaimed messiah"! We've seen ENOUGH of that the past twenty years or more..Don't YOU agree?
I'm BELIEVING GOD to truly sanctify the "BlackLivesMatter: A Call to Action" movement for the restorative work that is desperately needed, and for me like Roland Martin to help broker, facilitate and mobilize a conversation with global implications that once and for all brings people of color "together"!
In the #THEORY OF CHANGE that my deceased mentor - Rev. Eugene Williams (03/12) and I often discussed, including: Culture (our influence/our responsibility/our plan), Epistemology (our genius/our opportunity/our bridge)), Historical analysis (our identity/our integrity/our ignorance) and Redemption (our liberation/our limitations/our legacy) we identified the keys to effectively mobilizing a movement amongst people of color that fully embraces and properly interprets the historical record; so that every cycle of defeat, dysfunction and devastation discontinues, and the pathology and plight of our communities follows a continuum of health, stability and sustainability.
LET's walk in our unique grace and gift, and challenge the status quo that's feeding our cycles of defeat, poverty and humanism in this beloved country of ours!
