“SNUGGLING WITH DARKNESS?”
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: "Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light." (Ephesians 5:8-14 NKJV)
STOP "snuggling with darkness", thinking or deceiving yourself into believing that you're doing "God's work"!
BE HONEST, you're an OPPORTUNIST!
You DON'T want the purpose or will of God..YOU want your "name in lights", and to be affirmed by people who have no use for you, other than "using your gifts to further their own ends"!
LIGHT EXPOSES DARKNESS, so unless God is "drawing the lost" - for the saving of their souls, don't spiritualize opportunities that are going to "lead you away from HIM"!
HOW COME we believe the purpose of God is ONLY fulfilled when "public attention" or recognition is being given?
THANK GOD for:
- Single-mothers who won't sell their kids out for a broke-down man!
- The faithful volunteers NOT seeking money or recognition, serving in a "real" ministry endeavor that are impacting lives every day!
- "Authentic Christians", who don't serve Christ for personal gain, for social distinction, or for self-aggrandizement or selfish reasons!
- Sunday School Teachers that aren't "platform hungry", and are willing to invest in the next generation!
- For the senior leaders or elders that won't "sell the people out", because an "opportunity" to be on television places an undue burden upon the people to give; when GOD actually NEVER CALLED the minister to be on T.V.!
IT IS much easier to "go along" with the crowds in Christendom, because the isolating journey of becoming "purpose-driven" and "kingdom advancing" in our every day approach, will truly purify our hearts; and reveal when our "kingdom exploits" are genuinely FOR HIM, or not!
