“Mandated Quiet Times”
Mandated "quiet times" have great meaning and purpose, but they shouldn't replace or subtract from your normal devotion time with The Lord..
When you're really in a spiritual battle for the plan and purpose of God, the focus on "gaining new territory" often distracts you from "maintaining what you've already accomplished and acquired"; which is why "the fort or base (quarter-master) is always protected - even when the front-line soldiers are sent out to war!"
The Apostle Paul said it this way: "I don't mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you. But we must hold on to the progress we have already made." (Philippians 3:12-16 NLT)
"The progress that you have already made" - IS, the issue! We often are told that "the enemy is fighting us for where he sees us going", BUT, I beg to differ!
Satan is NOT full of faith, and neither does he possess the ability to KNOW God's Mind; he is a pawn in God's hands, and must "seek permission" to carry out his diabolical works, according to the "finished work" accomplished at Calvary, by Christ - The King!
ONLY GOD provides the increase (that which makes rich, and adds no sorrow), and the temptation we encounter is to either - "lean to our own understanding", or "depend upon the arm of the flesh" - and neither will give you the results you desire - God's Purpose and Perfect Will!
The enemy has "most of us on the ropes, about things", NOT the real substance of life - "to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me"...
In this current fight, IF YOU would take your eyes off of "stuff", and keep them squarely on HIS Promise apart from the temporal things that have a "shelf-life", you'll SEE your enemy's scatter!
WHY? Because, the enemy's advantage over us - "is what we hold on to in our own strength", which has not been completely given to GOD! The Lordship of Christ implies - HIS complete and total ownership!
IF YOU still "own it" in the sense that HIS authority and HIS rule is NOT supreme or does not take precedent, anxiety, fear and worry will dominate your circumstances!
As long as the whole of your care is given to GOD, "press forward and rest"...YOU WIN! WS-3
