WHY ARE WE PRONE TO DO EVIL THINGS?
WHY ARE WE PRONE TO DO EVIL THINGS?
Mankind is a tripartite being — made up of Spirit, Soul and Body, which is the intimately/intricately interwoven complexity of our fearfully and wonderfully-made "self"; fashioned to work as our whole being
**SPIRIT = BORN AGAIN HUMAN SPIRIT
**SOUL = MIND, WILL, EMOTIONS, IMAGINATION, and INTELLECT
**
VOICE OF THE FLESH
INTERNAL VOICE =
SOULISH/FEELINGS AND
FALACY
(Faulty Reasoning/Invalid Arguments) — SOUL TIES/
EXTERNAL VOICE =
SPIRITUAL/TRUTH AND
REALITY
(Real Existence/Substantive Arguments) — CONSCIENCE/MORAL COMPASS
AS A MAN OR WOMAN THINKS, SO IS HE/SHE:
Belief systems — values — worldviews — perspectives — moral compass — moral imperatives…serve as the foundation for life and living.
SELF = One individual's personality, character, demeanor, or disposition. · The subject of one's own experience of phenomena: perception, emotions, thoughts.
THE WORLD's VIEW OF THE HUMAN CONDITION:
PSYCHOLOGY say = maladjustment or your strained relationship with your mother or father (parents)..
BIOLOGY says = chemical imbalance or disease
PHILOSOPHY/ETHICS says = moral lapse of judgment
SOCIOLOGY says = bad environment or influences
THEOLOGICALLY says = the Bible says that SIN is humanity's problem, and our inability to save ourselves is the primary issue — when we refuse to accept the ONLY PERFECT SUBSTITUTIONARY SACRIFICE that both matters and satisfied the gulf represented between God's Holiness and Humanity's Brokenness
EVIL IS PURSUED THROUGH
Sin - transgression - iniquity - ungodliness - lawlessness - disobedience - licentiousness -
The brazenness of the expression of evil is actually troubling, tragic and a travesty the "everyone is inherently good" philosophy that is prevalent in secular culture..
There is NO OPPOSITION to God that is competitive or superior
