“THE NEED FOR OFFENSE..”
The New Testament speaks of "offense" as being one of the major demonic arrows and causes for dissension in the last days, and I believe that these offenses represent "feelings" or the range of carnal emotions that people tend to exalt to the place of "worship"; which leads them to all kinds of emotionally, mentally and spiritually-unhealthy dispositions in their lives! It also amazes me how often God will allow "the arrow of my words" (spoken in love) to penetrate the wounded, but stubbornly resistant hearts, that are blind and ignorant towards the things of God - to the degree that their very souls weigh in the balance!
Satan wants Christians to fear "offending someone"; but that cutting (through you) may be the only source of removal for the poison that infects their very souls. There will be more people in "hell" who worshipped their feelings, than anything else! This does not excuse any form of verbal abuse, unwarranted attacks, or super-spiritual judgmentalism against anyone. But, if we speak truth in love, without becoming argumentative, involved in boisterous shouting matches, or "pedantic" in our behaviors by hurling insults towards someone's weakness, etc - we can be sure that "the wound may help", but we must always be prayerful before we decide to be truthful!
