UNEXPLAINABLE MIRACLES.. SUPERNATURAL GOD!
Through the years, I've seen some very interesting manifestations of God's Glory revealed in our ministry endeavors throughout the world.
As I'm remembering some of those unusual and funny times where peculiarly powerful demonstrations brought us to greater dimensions of obedience and reverence for the Spirit of Grace; one instance comes to mind this morning...
I had an assignment on the Eastern Shore of Maryland for a season, in which many of the seeds that we'd sown, are still harvesting in the Delmarva region today.
One in particular involved a time of prayer with a well-known local pastor, in which his "surprise visit", had me boldly laying hands on him, in my fun pajamas - with some of the biggest and furriest cartoon-character "blue-slippers, you'd ever seen..LOL!
At the conclusion of our time, he happened to look down, then he encountered and BEHELD, the "blessing of The Lord", as he partook of the 'man of God's' - furry slippers!...LOL!
God, really has a sense of humor; but, I've discovered that it's often wrapped-up in "HIS Providential Ways" and "HIS Sovereign Care" that keeps us humble, while demonstrating how HE chooses to use "foolish things (like you and me) to confound the wise"!
Think about it for a minute.."How many of YOU would NOT let me "lay hands" and pray the prayer of faith, in my "fun pajamas and blue furry-slippers"? LOL!
EXACTLY! Not, many of you..
"Well, Pastor..What happened to the pastor that you prayed for!"
GOOD QUESTION..Here's the answer:
His life was turned "inside-out and upside-down, and immediately following that time of prayer, a six-month revival broke out in his church" - in which we participated and stood amazed; as God chose to "give us a laugh", during many conversations later on - while mightily moving by HIS Spirit in the midst of HIS people; and it all started with those infamous "blue slippers"! LOL!
The end result...the pastor resigned his post, went back to the family business - where God intended him to be all along, and the church eventually installed "the leader" God purposed for the time and season that we were sent to usher them into, according to the will of God..
WOW...And, some of us think, "God's glory" is about all the manifestations we hear about (you - fill in the blank), where the so-called signs and wonders have no real "redemptive purpose", at all!
"God's Glory" is not contrived by human origin, not maintained or manufactured by human manipulation, and will not produce divine results by our human maneuverings!
Why Not? Because, our wrong intentions are often the driving force of "we" human beings who tend "to share in HIS Glory" and "to attempt to take credit" for HIS amazing grace, undeserved kindness, and overwhelming goodness - that HE has determined to reveal, "in and to" HIS people!
As I'm writing this, I see a "sea of God's broken leaders", working hard to make things happen, without the humility, capacity or God-confidence, to genuinely submit to Christ's Inexhaustible Headship!
The energy, the liberty and the spontaneity that belongs to God's children in this regard, through Christ's Finished Work, is NOW AVAILABLE; because "the kingdom of heaven is at hand"!
That means...every benefit and manifestation is without limitation or restriction, and all we have to do is REPENT!
Change your mind...Change your attitude...Change your direction!
God wants HIS Glory revealed in and through your life!
Don't make IT about YOU!
LET HIM "be God", and trust that if you're wearing your "pink flurry slippers" - when HE has you pray for that lost loved-one; it's NOT what you're wearing OR the excellence of the presentation that you make (Old Testament Thinking); it's ALL ABOUT your heart..
"Give HIM your heart, completely; and HE'll give you HIS best, succinctly! WS-3
