The dictionary's definition of FAVOR is an "attitude of approval or liking" that is based upon some identifiable characteristics or qualities that attracts the one extending their goodness or graces to another. How can the Church be strategic in partnering with private and public agencies, without ALWAYS having its hand out for grants or public money? SERVE! The prevalent social and economic justice issues that unions, organizers and activists believe they need to aggressively pursue concerning their agendas with state and federal politicians, does not primarily derive from a radical commitment to the “public’s good”, or an aggressive response to the needs of a specific community or neighborhood group (by ethnicity) – which should be the driving force and agenda; it's all about MONEY! The "greater works" of Christ relates to the deeper submission and fiery intensity of our passion for His heart and purpose! It's NOT a greater demonstration of miracles, signs or wonders "only", which in the wrong context will lead people to a greater dependence upon us! Jesus said, "greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father"; but the proper context is sandwiched by Christ revealing that: a) He is The Way, The Truth, and The Life; b) answered prayer comes from praying in His name, and representing all that "He is"; and c) His departure was required in order for the Helper or Holy Spirit to be present with us in a representation to the world, which includes demonstrations of power that lead others back to Him, through the redemptive plan that reconciles the lost back to God, not us!
